Our responsibility for the future

Geothermal Energy
Since 2003, 15 ground drillings of a depth of up to 130 m each have been made for cooling purposes of the injection moulding machinery and for heating of all buildings.

Air Pollution Control
In our coating system filtering or cleaning is achieved through regenerative thermal afterburning of exhaust air.

Use of Rainwater
A basin with a holding capacity of 80.000 l serves as a reservoir for rainwater which is used for the toilets and for processing operations.

Use of exhaust heat
Exhaust heat as a result of compressed air generation is fed into our heating cycle.

Photovoltaics
At a power output of 185 kWp our photovoltaic system reduces electricity purchase by approx. 6%.

VARIOBOXX
Reduction of energy consumption during production: due to weight saving of approx. 1.5 kg per box the energy demand is also reduced. Converted to the energy demands for production of the VARIOBOXX up to 2 kg CO2 can be saved.
Reduction of energy consumption during transport: one truckload of 1430 boxes means a reduction of Diesel consumption of approx. 2L/100 km and a CO2 emission reduction of approx. 5 kg/100 km.

INSTANTCOAT
This specifically developed inline coating process saves up to 96% of coating by reduction of overspraying, it reduces the scrap rate by up to 90% and therefore also the waste quantity and it saves energy by significantly reduced supply and exhaust air as well as exhaust air purification.

VARIOBLEND
By combining different bulk and filling materials in the inhouse-developed VARIOBLEND process up to 70% of raw materials are saved, cooling time is reduced (only 30% of melt is fed, the heat of which is absorbed shortly by the filling material) and at the same time energy consumption is lowered (only 30% of the moulded parts mass are being molten and have to be cooled. Cooling mostly is achieved by bulk material fed).

Certification
SKZ-Cert GmbH Zertifizierungen evidences to the company of VARIOPLAST Konrad Däbritz GmbH the implementation and application of an environmental management system pursuant to DIN EN ISO 14001:2005 for the industry of: Development, production and distribution of plastic injection moulding parts, thermoformed parts, including surface finishing and assemblies, mould-making. Evidence was provided by an environmental audit.

Renewable Energies
Electricity that is not generated by Varioplast itself comes from certified water power.

Green Award
In 2015 we were nominated for the Green Award for our success in conserving resources.
