The Süddeutsche Kunststoff Zentrum, Würzburg (SKZ) certifies that the company VARIOPLAST® Konrad Däbritz GmbH has introduced and applied an environmental management system in accordance with DIN EN ISO 14001:2015 for the industry: Development, production and distribution of plastic injection moulding parts, thermoformed parts, including surface finishing, assemblies and mould-making. Evidence was provided by an environmental audit.
Environmentally friendly alternative for metallisation
PVD metallisation also takes place inline. Nanocoating enables absolutely precise, reproducible part geometry and laser capability with different coating materials for functional or decorative purposes. The coating, which is just a few nanometres thick, saves resources and is a sensible alternative to toxic and costly chrome plating.

- Plastic recycling
For our in-house transport packaging (VARIOBOXX®) and paint trays, production waste is recycled back into the manufacturing process.
- Plastic waste recycling
Plastic waste is collected by type and passed on to recycling companies for recompounding.
- Energy-efficient material drying
The drying and conveying of our plastic pellets is centrally controlled, saving energy, time and handling.
- Solar energy
Our photovoltaic system installed on the company roofs currently generates more than 600,000 kWh of electrical energy per year, significantly reducing our electricity procurement costs. We plan to expand the capacity in the near future.

- Machine pool: by now more than 50% of all injection moulding machines running all-electric (more precise, higher process stability, more energy-efficient)
- Automation: By now our robot quota is 40% (German average: 4%) Achieving highest reproducibility and efficiency for a better ecobalance
- The use of diverse CO2-conserving mechanical services means the conservation of resources: Due to geothermal energy and heat recovery we have become 100% independent from fossil fuels.
